Nana’s Secret Creamy Oats

You guys know how incredible my grandma’s recipes are and this one is a game changer! These creamy oats are flavorful, healthy, and so delicious! Her secret ingredient is whole dairy milk because it adds so much creaminess and richness that just can’t be replaced with alternative milk. And did you know that whole milk is packed with protein, has 13 essential nutrients, and has no added sugar? I call that a win-win! What I love about this recipe is that it’s so easy and comes together in no time! Perfect for busy mornings or snacking any time of day. Top the creamy oats with tons of fresh fruit, shredded coconut, honey, nuts, and a splash of cold milk. Here’s a video on exactly how I make then. Enjoy!

What You'll Need:

+ 2 cups milk

+ 1 cup oats

+ 2 tsp. brown sugar

+ 1 tsp. butter

+ 1-2 drops vanilla extract

+ Pinch of cinnamon

+ Pinch of cardamom

+ Pinch of salt


+ Strawberries

+ Blackberries

+ Blueberries

+ Walnuts

+ Shredded coconut

+ Honey

*Use any of your favorites that you have on hand!*


1. In a pot over low/medium heat add milk, oats, butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and cardamom.

2. Increase the heat to medium and continuously stir until the oats are cooked and consistency is thickened. You can adjust consistency by adding additional milk if desired.

3. Serve and garnish with toppings of your choice and enjoy!
