This Classic Roman Potato Pizza is one of my favorite pizza recipes that’s inspired by my time in Rome. It’s packed with flavor and so easy to make! It’s a classic Italian dish that you have to try for yourself! Hope you love it as much as we do!
How To Make Classic Roman Potato Pizza

Ingredients
- 12 to 14 ounces pizza dough
- 1 to 2 medium Yukon gold or red potatoes, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup low moisture mozzarella, freshly grated
- ⅛ cup parmesan, freshly grated
- 1 to 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, chopped for garnish
- 4 to 6 ounces spicy Italian sausage, casings removed
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil, divided
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
- All-purpose flour as needed
Step-By-Step Recipe Method
- Preheat the pizza oven to 650 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Add sausage and break into smaller pieces. Cook for approximately 3 to 4 minutes or until browned on all sides. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add thinly sliced potatoes, 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated and set aside.
- On a lightly floured surface, stretch dough into a 12” circle.
- Add mozzarella, parmesan, potatoes, sausage, and a light drizzle of olive oil.
- Bake for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the Indoor Pizza Oven and sprinkle with fresh rosemary and flaky sea salt.
- Slice it up and enjoy!
Tips
- Remove the pizza dough from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature.
- After slicing the potatoes, soak them in water and then pat them dry to remove any excess moisture.
