This Hibiscus Margarita is inspired by a drink we had at the W Hotel in Punta de Mita, Mexico! It’s cocktail called Flor Tonica and it was the delicious welcome drink at the hotel. It’s really simple to make and so flavorful. As always, I knew I had to recreate it so here it is! Hope you love it!
How To Make My Hibiscus Margarita
Here’s a video of how I made my Hibiscus Margarita. Hope you love it as much as we do! For another fun summer cocktail option, check out my Tart Cherry Margarita recipe!
Ingredients
- 4 ounces hibiscus tea, chilled
- 2 ounces tequila or mezcal
- 1/2 ounce agave
- Juice of 1/2 a lime
- Sparkling water
Step-By-Step Recipe Method
- To make the tea, steep hibiscus flowers and strain. I like to use 2 to 3 tablespoons per cup of water for a concentrated tea. Let steep for 3 to 4 minutes then strain. Set aside to let cool. You could also brew a larger batch which I’d recommend!
- In a cocktail shaker, add ice hibiscus tea, tequila (or mezcal), agave, and lime juice.
- Shake until the glass is frosty. Pour over an ice-filled glass, top with sparkling water, and enjoy!
