Lychee Grapefruit Fizz

If you’re looking for a fun cocktail that’s sure to impress your friends, then look no further! Andrew and I put our own spin on the famous Garden City cocktail. It was created in the Victoria Distillers cocktail lounge in British Columbia, Canada using Empress 1908 Gin, which is our favorite! It’s inspired by the renowned tea and cocktail programs of the iconic Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria. It infuses eight botanicals including butterfly pea blossoms, which gives it subtle earthy notes and an all-natural indigo hue. It’s not only delicious but it’s also vibrant, colorful, and sure to be a crowd pleaser! Check out this video for how to make this Lychee Grapefruit Fizz.

What You'll Need:

+ 2 oz. Empress 1908 Gin

+ 3 oz. grapefruit juice

+ 1 oz. lemon juice

+ 1 oz. lychee simple syrup

+ Splash of tonic water

+ Grapefruit slice and edible flower for garnish

Steps:

1. To make the lychee simple syrup, heat ⅓ cup water, ⅓ cup lychee juice (from can), and ⅔ cup sugar over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, add in 12 lychees, stir, and press to release flavor.

2. Remove from heat after 1-2 minutes and set aside for approximately 20 minutes. Strain the simple syrup and place it in the fridge until cooled and ready to use.

3. Combine grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and lychee simple syrup into a shaker with ice. Shake until frosty and pour into a glass over ice.

4. Layer the gin into the glass and top with tonic water. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit and an edible flower. Hope you enjoy, cheers!
