There’s just nothing like a big platter of sticky, saucy wings during football season. These Sticky Hot Honey Chicken Wings bake in the oven until they’re perfectly crispy, then get tossed in a buttery hot honey glaze that’s so delicious. They’re sweet, spicy, a little smoky, and sure to be your game day go-to! They’re the kind of wings that people won’t be able to stop eating (just ask Andrew, who took down a whole plate of them in one sitting!). When you add some homemade ranch (I have a recipe for this below), carrots, and celery on the side, you’ve officially got game day covered.

Serves: 4-6
Ingredients – Sticky Hot Honey Chicken Wings
- 24 chicken party wings (flats and drumettes) about 3 pounds, patted dry
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons hot sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- Homemade or store bought ranch dressing, for serving
- Celery and carrot sticks, for serving
Ingredients – Easy Homemade Ranch Dip
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh chives

Step-By-Step Method – Sticky Hot Honey Chicken Wings
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add the baking powder, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper to a large mixing bowl; whisk to evenly combine. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them until the wings are evenly coated and no seasoning remains at the bottom of the bowl.
- Place the wings on the prepared baking sheet in an even layer. Transfer the wings to the oven. Cook for 40 to 50 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken wings are crispy and fully cooked. Remove from the oven.
- In the meantime, make the sauce. To a medium skillet over medium heat, add the butter, hot sauce, and honey. Cook, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, 2 to 3 minutes. Keep warm on low heat until ready to use.
- Add the cooked wings to a large mixing bowl. Pour the sauce and toss to combine until thoroughly coated.
- Transfer the wings to a serving platter. Serve alongside ranch, celery, and carrot sticks.
Step-By-Step Method – Ranch Dip
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, lemon juice, ranch seasoning, and fresh chives until well combined. Chill until ready to serve.
