What You'll Need:

+ 1 Sheet puff pastry, thawed

+ 8-10 Figs, sliced into ¼ inch pieces

+ 6 oz. Cream cheese, softened

+ 2 tbsp. Powdered sugar

+ 1 Vanilla bean pod or 1 tsp. vanilla extract

+ ¼ tsp. Cardamom

+ 1 Egg

+ 1 tbsp. Milk

+ 1 tbsp. Demerara Sugar

+ Fresh thyme for garnish

Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a mixing bowl, add softened cream cheese, vanilla bean, powdered sugar, and cardamom. Stir until well combined and set aside.

2. In a separate bowl, add egg and milk and whisk.

3. Slightly roll out thawed puff pastry and trace 1 inch perimeter around the edges (not cutting all the way through the dough).

4. Using a spatula, spread cream cheese mixture inside of traced perimeter and layer fig slices. Brush egg wash on 1 inch edges and sprinkle demerara sugar overtop the entire pastry.

5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Enjoy!
