Mulled Wine

Mulled Wine

Just like there’s comfort food, I would call mulled wine a comfort drink. Although this is a more popular recipe during fall and winter, I enjoy it year-round. We all know how much I love my red wine and this is the perfect way to change it up a bit (especially on gloomy days with some Spring showers). What I love about this recipe is that it’s flavorful but it doesn’t have an overpowering taste.

Many years ago on a trip to Solvang, Andrew and I tasted a mulled wine that got me pretty sick. This wasn’t because I drank too much (shocking, I know). It was because it was syrupy and overly sweet, which inspired me to create one that I love. In my opinion, this recipe offers just the right touch of sweetness from the honey and some freshness from the orange juice and zest. I hope you love this mulled wine as much as I do!
